Wall Flower no more...

Found this the other day. It's based on the book The Secrets of Word-of-Mouth Marketing "How to trigger exponential sales through runaway word of mouth"
by George Silverman. See what you think.

How to be visible without really trying

1. Ask a question at a conference.
2. Make a point in a meeting.
3. Write letters to your industry magazine.
4. Introduce yourself to lots of people at an industry show or ball.
5. Buy people a drink at the bar at a lecture.
6. Discuss a book with an industry leader.
7. Wear bright ties.
8. Make people laugh.
9. Have an opinion on everything. (But keep an open mind)
10. Hand out an unusual business card.
11. Recast your CV to be a little different.
12. Take up an unusual hobby. (But not too unusual)
13. Don’t overlook using the email and Internet to communicate your
cause.

ProcrastiNOT!

A great tip by Jeff Davidson from his book "The 60 Second Procrastinator - sixty solid techniques to jump-start any project and get your life in gear!

TIP NO 4 RELATE THE MEANING TO SOMETHING LARGER

"....find the grater meaning behind the task itself. If you're part of a team at work, the task you have been assigned may seem tedious and even uninspiring. Yet your performance will surely affect your team, and what the team does will surely affect the division or department which may affect the organization, which could conceivably affect society, ad infinitum".

No pressure.......

fresh thinking:

What is the state of your teamwork? Take an audit -

The Law of The Bad Apple

Rotten attitudes ruin a team. The first place to start is with your self. Do you think the team wouldn’t be able to get along without you? Do you secretly believe that recent team successes are attributable to your personal efforts, not the work of the whole team? Do you keep score when it comes to the praise and perks handed out to other team members? Do you have a hard time admitting you made a mistake? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need to keep your attitude in check.

Books I love: April 08

What the book promises:

Following this 13-step Life Business— Program, you'll discover how to identify and concentrate on your most essential goals; listen to and take seriously the concerns of those closest to you; and invest aggressively in activities that will help you achieve your central objectives.

You'll also learn how to develop strategies that will maximize your chances for success, set heartfelt goals, and envision and plan projects that will take your life in the direction you want it to go. You'll find helpful tips for building a plan-ahead budget that will ensure you the basic necessities while freeing up funds to finance your dreams. You will learn to think about money the way successful businesses do with potentially radical changes to your approach to savings, investment and retirement.

Why I love it:

Because it teaches you how to treat your life with the same consideration you would give a profit making venture. Why? Because you are worth it!
